Wrist Injury Rehab and Physical Therapy

Activity First Physical Therapy Puts Our Patients First

Wrist Injury Rehab

An injury to your wrist may seem like a minor issue until you start to go about your regular daily activities. You don’t realize how important your wrists are until you hurt one of them! Although some minor wrist injuries will heal on their own without much help, others can be trickier. If your doctor recommends wrist injury rehab, physical therapy may be necessary. Activity First Physical Therapy can help you with your rehab! Here’s how:

Improve Range of Motion and Mobility

Depending on the severity of your wrist injury, you may not be able to use your injured hand much as it heals. If your wrist is in a cast, your physical therapy won’t begin until your cast is removed. However, you may need to wear a brace while it heals. Regardless of your injury situation, Activity First PT can help! First, they can communicate with your doctors to ensure you are cleared for physical therapy. Then, they will begin to help you regain the range of motion and strength in your wrist.

Provide You With Wrist Exercises

The bulk of your wrist injury rehab will be made up of exercises to regain normal range of motion and mobility. Your physical therapists may use different equipment to aid your exercises, like bands or exercise machines. You’ll also receive guidance on exercises you can do at home to ensure your wrist heals as soon as possible.

Pain Management

You’re obviously aware that an injured wrist can be quite painful. However, having professionals’ guidance will help reduce that pain before, during, and after your rehab. The team at Activity First PT can provide you with ways to manage the pain and also ensure you’re not experiencing any unnecessary pain.

Are you ready to get started on your wrist injury rehab? Do you have questions first? Either way, give us a call! We’ll be happy to help you.
